biked around the neighborhood (just a bit over 4 mile). it was pretty hot and towing kai adds extra like 50lbs does't help the situation :P but i should try to bike around 6 miles next time!

近所の回りを自転車でぐるっと... 今日は7km位でした。太陽はギラギラと暑いし、カイをバイクトレイラーで入れてひっぱるのもエキストラ約２５kg、長く乗るとだんだん重くなってくるような... でも次回は目指せ１０km！

i made the summer theme "goldfish" jello today. i saw the real, store bought one here (thanks to yukosy-san!) and inspired me to make my own "fruit" version (real one is made out of japanese beans + candy i think...). as you can probably guess, i used strawberries, grapes, and tangerines!

夏をテーマにしたフルーツ金魚ゼリー（実は寒天）を作ってみました〜！yukosyさんのブログでyukosyさんが塩瀬総本家で買ったゼリーをみて可愛くて自分でもちょっとトライしてみたくなりました。材料は寒天、イチゴ、ぶどう、とみかん。寒天は水っぽい感じをだしたかったので２層にしてみました、下はブルーで色をつけて上は透明。やっぱり本物にくらべるとまだまだですけど、雰囲気はでたとおもうのでGoodかな？＾＾

we made kabobs for dinner on sunday. yum! i wanted to put cherry tomatoes but i forgot to buy them :( and didn't put green peppers 'cuz daniel doesn't like them. but if i did, would be prettier picture with different colors :D

日曜日の夜はシシカボブをBBQで作りました。チェリートマトを先にのせるつもりだったけど買い忘れ...ピーマンはダニエルが嫌いだから入れませんでした　(今回はレッドオニオン、マッシュルームとビーフ）。でもいれたらきっと色合いが奇麗な写真がとれたのになぁ〜。残念！＾＾；

kai and i went to mickie grove regional park with our neighbor for the first time. it's only about 45 min. from our house and we had such a fun time! part of the park has a small zoo, so we went there first.

この後は軽くランチを食べて小さいウォーターパークに行きました。続く。

we went to the playdate at the park before noon. he was having a little break with the juice in a shade.

プレイデートの日なので公園に遊びに行ってきました。今日はいつもよりかは暑くなかったので（３０度位）助かりました。ちょっと遊んだ後、日陰でジュースを飲みながらのブレイクタイム！

it's been so hot here in the triple digits temperature! i think this past weekend got up to like 105 F so pretty much we were in the house trying to stay cool. i just decided to make some mojito for us to freshen up our spirits :D

最近ますますと暑い天気になり、４０度を超える日もあります。（汗）はっきりいって暑すぎー！でも日本みたいに湿気が多くないので少しは助かるのですがでもやっぱり外にでるとサウナにはいっているよな気がします。＾＾；という事でリフレシュなキューバのカクテル、モヒートを週末に作ってみました。フレシュのライムとミント、パウダーシュガー少々、クラブソーダにホワイトラムが入っています。

remember? i told you about how daniel is on computer first thing in the morning and last thing at night? well now you know, this is it ;)

毎日朝起きて一番最初にする事はコンピューター、夜一番最後にやる事もコンピューターです。
いつもなにかiPhoneの事をやっているみたいで（ハックしたのでアイコンやインターフェイスのデザインをかえています）いつも飽きずに、かなりのオタッキーです... ＾＾；

went to super franks (indoor kid's fun center) and kai had lots of fun as we expected. there's so many toys and big slides to play with but he decided to push and ride the car around most of the time (same thing that he does at home!!!). another thing he got really got into were these ducks...

このアヒルのおもちゃ！ただアヒルが電動で池の周りを回るという単純な物。すごく気に入ったみたいで結構長くこのテーブルに座ったり、車を押しては戻ってきてまたアヒルと遊んでました。

i talk about sprinkles cupcakes a lot and i always just buy the cupcake mix and make them but the other day, i finally went to the sprinkles store! i was sooooo excited to go there and actually experience the sprinkles to the fullest :) i just love the design of the store and identity (very modern + simple) it was seriously cute, everything about it is just perfect so i took lots of random pictures :D

やっとスプリンクルズのカップケーキのお店に行ってきましたー！いつもはここのお店のカップゲーキミックスをかって家で作っているのですが、やっぱりお店もいいです。さすが思ってたとおりにお店のデザインがモダーン、シンプルで可愛くてわくわくしちゃいました。＾＾

このお店のフロントがCUTE！上からかかっているサークルのデザインは売っているカップケーキの味の色々です。

when you walk-in, this is what you see first. even how they display the cupcakes are so cute. love the sliding wood tray to get cupcakes, clever!

ドアを開けて入ると何種類ものカップケーキが目の前にディスプレイ！この木のカップケーキトレーがちゃんとスライドしてとるようになっていて、さすが、デザインも使い良さもGOODだなぁ〜

here is the different kinds of mix that you can buy. i think i tried red velvet and chocolate (for kai's 1st b-day party last year), they were both good but my fav. is red velvet.

カップケーキのミックスはこういう筒にはいって販売（ミックスはここのお店には限らずいろんなキッチンのお店やモールなどにも売っています）。やっぱりおすすめはレッド　ベルベット味（色は赤いケーキで、チョコとバニラ味がミックスしたような味で、クリームチーズフロツティングがのってます）去年の海のバースデーバーティでも作り大人気でした。

right next to the window at the bar, there's fun display of cupcake tray and looks like hand-made felt cupcakes with all the different color dots. ugh, that's even cute too!

これは窓のすぐ横にあるバーの中のディスプレイ。白いのは専用のカップケーキトレー (ほかにもいろんな色があるけど＄３５ドルとちょっとたかい...) フェルトでつくってある手作りのカップケーキがnice design touch!

kai has star wars mr. potato head toys (darth vader + storm trooper) and he got hold of the "tongue" and put it in his own mouth. sorry about the blurry picture but it made me laugh so i had to post it :P

ちょっとピンぼけしているけど笑わせてくれたので載せてみました。

we went out to dinner on saturday with the family and on the way there we drove over the san mateo bridge. when we were driving on it, over looking the san francisco bay, i noticed the pretty colors in the sky. i kinda like the contrast of the beautiful nature vs. man-made tower in this picture.

i had some fresh blueberries in the fridge so i decided to make some muffins. it turned out to be cupcake size "mini muffins" which is perfect for breakfast :)

i decided to clean the backyard today (tools, sprinkler pipes and such) and i brought my phone and a cup of coffee and sat down on a chair... wow, happens to be all yellow! LOL i really didn't mean to do that so i thought that was pretty silly...i had to take a picture ;)

i see this intense pink color flower on a tree blooming around the neighborhood lately. it's very pretty and looks interesting how it gets all clustered on a tip of a branch and has wavy textured flower. this is another mystery flower/tree that i don't know the name...anyone know?

when i noticed it was too late... kai already went into the water and enjoyed himself before i changed him in his swim shorts :P oh well, at least he had fun right? he went home naked, just a towel wrapped around him in the car seat and took a bath when he got home!

this big fountain came on just then and he was surprised by that and was running away, silly boy!

i can't believe it's already july!!! i guess time really flies when you get old (or getting older) and have a kid! now, holidays, kai's b-day, and christmas are coming sooner than later now!!! anyways, i just noticed my calender downstairs today (i guess daniel changed it) and thought it was fun and very energetic colors, so appropriate for beginning of the summer, no?

kai was playing with grandpa's reading glasses. he looks like a "professor" and looks so silly :) i bet everything was so blurry when he put them on! if you happen to watch jon + kate plus 8 on tlc, he kinda looks like aiden, doesn't he? ;)

we just had a family 4th of july bbq at our house with kai's grandparents and his great uncle. then what do you know, we are all proud iphone owners! ha ha ha. too bad my parents weren't here to add 2 more in the circle (actually we are also proud apple computer owners too! we should get sponsored by apple ;)

mine is the yellow one since i seem to lose my phone in my purse or around the house constantly, i decided to get the bright color case to spot it easily ;) most of us have this incase slider case and they are really awesome case and come in lots of different colors. we totally recommend this case if you are looking for a good iphone case.

on friday, we went to trisha + greg's bbq so i made few things to bring stuff over to their house. one of the thing i made was this "4th of july" cake (i say that just because of the colors, tried to do red, blue, and white thing). i was gonna do the american flag decoration but then i thought that blueberries are gonna be all on the one corner so i decided to to more of strawberry shortcake style to even out the strawberry:blueberry ratio :)

it looks good here (right after i decorated) but after few hours, strawberries were starting to get very juicy on the cake and there were lots of pink juice everywhere! what a disaster!!! but luckily, it didn't go thru the frosting so cake didn't get soggy. wheeew! now i know, not to cut strawberries in half unless it's gonna be eaten right away!

kai definitely have few tantrums through out the day...and this was one of them. he gets easily frustrated when he can't do stuff in his way or when he can't reach or get stuff.

this was in the middle of it, he kinda sat down and crying to see how i react or something (he totally test me all the time!). maybe he got mad 'cuz i kept taking his cute crying face? i dunno... ;)

but he was all better like few min. later :) he sat down on my lap, looking at his silly crying faces on the camera together and he was smiling :)
